Turning your ear to wisdom and
applying your heart to understanding...

Path of Discipleship

The Education Committee and others at Otterbein are offering studies throughout the week and at various times throughout the year. These are on various topics and are offered with the hope and prayer that we can all find something new to help us in our own individual paths of discipleship.

"Abba's Child" Study...

A New Study Is Available - This five-week study will be on Tuesdays at 7pm from February 18 to March 17 and is based on “Abba’s Child: The Cry of the Heart for IntimateBelonging” by Brennan Manning.
Many Christians have bought into the lie that we are worthy of God’s love only when things are going well. But when life begins to fall through the cracks and when our less-than-perfect identity is revealed, we scramble to keep up a good front to present to the world and God. We cover and hide until we can rearrange the mask of perfection and look good again. Sadly, it’s at that time that we wonder why we lack intimate relationships and a passionate faith. Yet God our Father “Abba” is calling us to accept and claim our identity as God’s child “Abba’s child.” In this study, we will learn the depth of God’s love for us as we are.
Please see Sunday bulletin for additional information.

“Why Easter Matters” Study...

"Why Easter Matters" is a church-wide 4-week study to be held on Sunday mornings during Sunday school beginning March 22.
Pastor Bruce will also be leading this study on Monday mornings at 10:00 in Room 8 beginning March 16.
Please see Sunday bulletin for additional information.

Ongoing Discipleship Study...

Disciple is a program of disciplined Bible study, giving the Old and New Testaments equal time, and emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as a revelation of God. DISCIPLE I draws upon the work of scholars and includes personal Bible reading and study, and dynamic group discussions to aid in our understanding of the Bible. It is an organized, 34-week, deep, challenging and thought-provoking study. Week by week your knowledge of Scripture will grow, and your confidence in expressing your views will be strengthened. It will also help you develop strong study habits as you explore the context of Scripture in the culture for which it was written, as well as in our current culture. This class is held on Thursday evenings and started on September 5.  Please contact church office for contact information.
